Welcome to my world….

Welcome to my blog.

Having moved back to London some three years ago, I am in the process of rediscovering life and myself. I am 42 years young although there are days when I feel over a 100! I am an imperfect person living in an imperfect world but some things are a constant for me including friendship and loyalty. I make mistakes, I sometimes think without speaking  but I never give up on those who mean the most to me.

My friends mean a lot to me. My closest friends (of which you will no doubt be reading more of in my blogs) are Dominique,  Bunny, Johnny, Theresa, Fiorenza, Jon, Sina, Sam and many more. They all mean the world to me and I would do anything for these guys. They have always supported me and I will always be eternally grateful to them.

I am currently working for an independent company called Amy’s. They have five stores that sell general kitchen products, home ware and hardware. They have been in business for over twenty years and are looking to expand. My current role is that of Store Manager in the Swiss Cottage branch. My background is in retail and for over twenty years I have been in some form of retail management.

My main passion in life  is Star Trek. I started my love of all things Star Trek at the age of nine and have never looked back. I love to watch the show, read the books, comics, collect models, figures and many many other things all related to Star Trek. In the middle of 2012 I found the world of Star Trek podcasts and in late October I joined the Trek Mate Family. A year later it was time to move on and along with my friend Bunny we created Visionary Trek; a series of podcasts that look at different aspects of Star Trek. Working alongside Bunny and myself are Roslyn and Jon.

As well as that I enjoy reading, all things Sherlock Holmes and anything written by Aaron Sorkin. The West Wing is one of the finest political dramas ever written (so far) and I am a big fan. I am also very interested in politics and no doubt I will be posting about politics in some  fashion.  Not only am I concerned about politics in the UK but also I am very interested in American politics (a result of The West Wing).

Doctor Who is also something I enjoy. When I was growing up Peter Davidson who was the Fifth Doctor was “My Doctor”. I loved cricket (still do) and he wore cricket whites and jumper (we will forget the leek for now) which all appealed to me. After he regenerated my interest waned in Doctor Who but I stilled watched it. Then in 2005 the relaunch came which brought Doctor Who into the 21st century. I am lucky to say that I now have a second “My Doctor” with David Tenant as the 10th Doctor. I am sure there will be more on the Doctor very soon…

My latest TV indulgences are The Flash, Arrow, Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. These shows are fun, have great character storylines and remind me of why I liked the superhero genre in the first place.

During the past three years I have discovered the world of conventions. I’m making up for lost time and I have been on so many adventures and have met so many of the stars that have bought me countless hours of enjoyment over the years. Of course being a big Star Trek fan I’m trying to meet as many of the stars as possible but I have also met actors from many other shows including Defiance, Flash, Arrow, Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who.

I am not sure why I am writing or what my blog is all about, perhaps to hear me ramble, perhaps an outlet for me to talk about my views or just for me to rant about the issues of the day. I hope that you enjoy what I write and if you do please let me know. I love to talk and meet new people.

What next….
